Based on the results of an extensive HGCA funded research programme that looked at all aspects of wheat agronomy from variety choice; seed rates; sowing date; fertiliser rates and timings; PGR use; pest, weed and disease control
It will make you a better grower, able to grow wheat more profitably.
Running parallel to the theoretical part of the course, participants split a field of winter wheat, managing half according to canopy management practice and the other half with conventional farm practice. Variable cost inputs, crop yield, grain quality data and other agronomic information is collected allowing preparation of a comparison of the 2 treatments for each farm site.
